A steaming bowl of soup in the middle of the winter days is truly an old-fashioned comfort that plenty of people crave for it. As Janet Clarkson, author of the book “Soup: A Global History” said, soup is one of the world’s oldest and most universal foods. Every culture has some kind of soups and it’s got very ancient roots.
Pho with main ingredients are meat (beef or chicken) and rice flat noodles, with the broth simmered for many hours with herbs such as cinnamon, anise and other warm spices to create a wonderful aroma. Pho is one of Vietnam's best-known export dishes, yet is still a relatively new dish," wrote Andrea Nguyen, author of the book "The Pho Cookbook".
And while today's pho restaurants serve a variety of meats, beef remains the original. By 1930, author Andrea Nguyen explained that Vietnamese pho was served with slices of tender beef in broth.
Currently, beef pho is still the most popular version in Vietnam, with diverse options depending on the taste of the person enjoying it.
Pho appears around the world and is beloved by many diners. Pho is even included in Cambridge Dictionary as a noun. These have proven the famous of Vietnamese dish.
